ANTONY CHEN
Antony has a Masters (MEd) in Secondary Education with The College of New Jersey and is a certified teacher by the state of NJ. His undergraduate degrees include a BS in Finance, Economics and Art History with Rutgers University in NJ and an undergraduate certificate in Applied Mathematics with Indiana University. His interest and enthusiasm for teaching first began in 2005 while teaching piano and cello to elementary to high school students throughout Central Jersey. A few years later, Antony ventured into other areas of teaching such as standardized test preparation (SAT), Business Writing, and academic tutoring in the social sciences. Having taught at JackPrep for five years, he understands that each student has his/her own unique needs and that in order to fulfill these needs the instructor must use effective research-based instructional strategies to create an inclusive, engaging environment for all students. As a result, he strives to make his lessons interdisciplinary with an emphasis on developing critical thinking skills. In addition to teaching at JackPrep, he is also currently a substitute teacher at Taipei American School and completed his student teaching practicum at AAIA in Linkou.
In his free time, Antony enjoys learning how to build his portfolio of alternative investments, follows a variety of e-Sports leagues, and takes healthy helpings of schadenfreude from watching Golden State band-wagoners struggle on which LA team to support this upcoming NBA season.
